Yesterday afternoon we boarded a plane in Paris and an hour and a half later landed in Genoa. The flight was not only fast and easy but there were no clouds at all as we flew over the Alps which look just amazing from above. Flying into Genoa with the steep mountains plunging into the sea and the rugged coastline with huge ships and pleasure boats docked in the port as we flew in low was a thrilling sight. We left a rather chilly France and arrived in warm and vivid Italy.
Genoa is a lovely place to begin our two week adventure, the home of Christopher Columbus and the first major coastal city past the French border.
