We're back in Montmirail, but I have one more photo of Paris for today. Emily is directing a play that will be opening next week at the Lucernaire in the 6th arrondissement. We delivered a prop to her one day and got to see her in action as she prepared the stage for her actors. She has the rights to the French translation of Dead Man's Cell Phone by Sarah Ruhl. In French it's called Appels en Absence. The playwright is an American who has won many awards for her various plays, all of which are darkly funny. The plot of this one involves a woman in a café who is annoyed that a man at the next table is allowing his cell phone to ring without answering, until she discovers that he has suddenly died while having his coffee. She answers the ringing phone and becomes entangled with the various people at the other end of the line.
